5GMA Kapuso Foundation partners with QCRC to help in Quezon
  In Partnership with the QCRC, the GMA Kapuso Foundation effectively distributed the donations for the disaster victims in Quezon provice and near-by areas. At the initiative of Ms. Mel Tiangco, President of GMA Kapuso Foundation. more than 11Million worth of cash donations and in kinds were course to the QCRC. Donations of canned goods, used clothes, kitchen utensils, food, used toys, and sleeping mats were received from individual donors, civic groups, schools, govt. employees, company employees, and private institutions frol all over the country. The successful relief operationswas undertaken with full cooperation with Quezon-Luzena Red Cross Chapter.  
 
5Blood Services overshooted targets
  A total of 5,924 units of blood were collected in 2004. This represents 112% of its 2004 target. In 2003, the chapter was only able to collect 84% of its 5,000 blood units target. The series of mass blood donations conducted for voluntary non-remunerated blood donations led to a blood center with enough blood supply to cater to the needs of patients needing blood. Most noteworthy of these were the following: Birthday of QCRC Honorary Chairman and Quezon City Mayor Feliciano R. Belmonte; Chairman Dante V. Liban; PSBA Tau Gamma; Robinson's Novaliches; TIP; PADPAO-PNP; Ever Gotesco; Natioal Defense Collge; Grandeur Security Agency; etc. As in the past, the core group of blood donors belong to the AFP, the Blood Galooners Club whose members likewise represent civic clubs and educational institutions.  
     
56,546 First Aiders in 2004
  The QCRC was able to train no less than 6,546 individuals, a record high, in year 2004. This had been one major achievement of the QCRC. Thousands of individuals from all walks of life were trained and are now capable of performing First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Truly, this newly acquired skill empower the trainees in attending emergency situations not only in the work place bt also at home.Beneficiaries of the training are Caregiving students, Nursing aides and students, Security Guards, Factory workers, and Employees of private companies. This 2005, the QCRC is targeting more than 8,000 individuals to be trained as First Aiders. The vision of the QCRC is providing "First Aiders in Every Home" is soon to be accomlished.
